DAMON
NORCROSS
PLANNING BOARD
2024 CANDIDATE - Salem, NH
About Me
I've lived in Salem for 24 years. I'm a former small business owner and current real estate agent that's been active in Salem supporting mainly youth initiatives.
I'm married to Melanie Smith Norcross, a native of Salem and graduate of Salem High School and Rhodes College (where we first met in Memphis, TN).
We have two wonderful daughters, Emma and Sophie, who were educated in Salem public schools and are now attending college at Stonehill College and Roger Williams University, respectively.
Since moving to Salem from Atlanta, GA, I've been involved in coaching youth sports (baseball and soccer) and have been a long time supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. I volunteer for The Upper Room in Derry, NH and have worked for the town as an Assistant to the Supervisor of the Checklist during local and national elections. I also served on the Salem Recreation Advisory Committee for 3 years.
Most recently I was appointed to the Salem Planning Board in 2023 and am currently seeking a new 3 year term.
I'm a registered Independent.
Why I'm Running
I'm a common-sense candidate that simply wants to do what's in the best interest of our citizens. Anticipating the sale of my business in 2023 I was looking for ways to be more involved with the town. After attending the Salem Town Academy I decided to run for Town Council in the special election in 2023. Although I didn’t win, it lead to an appointment to the Planning Board to replace the remaining term of Paul Pelletier. I’m seeking a 3 Year Term on the Planning Board to continue my work on the board to ensure fair and equal representation for all stakeholders in the town.
Salem is a special town full of family, friends, and neighbors that deserve the best. As Salem continues to grow and evolve it’s important for our Planning Board to keep all residents in mind as our Master Plan is developed, implemented and interpreted.
Thank you for considering me for the Planning Board at the March 12, 2024 election.
Let's Talk
I believe in small town values and the importance of one on one communication.
I encourage you to reach out if you have any questions about my campaign, my experience, or my position on the opportunities and challenges facing Salem.
I'm straight forward and honest about what I know and don't know. I'm always open to new ideas and encourage healthy debate.
